Greatly enjoyed your deep, expansive, yet granular descriptions of the unfortunate deer accident experience … and your use of the HD paradigm for healing. Initially (and perhaps incorrectly?) I am connecting the healing process you describe, as similar to what I’ve learned from Dr Gabor Mate, Internal Family System, Buddhist dharma teachings, and meditation … especially — getting in touch with what HD calls the “To Respond Strategy” that meditation connected me with (perhaps?) 3years ago. I am intrigued by the HD system’s more refined descriptions of the energies associated with that Strategy. /// I’ll certainly be visiting Susan’s post that you’ve recommended, soon
I am unfamiliar with Dr Gabor Mate and the Internal Family System. My first study about family systems in regard to therapeutic approaches, decades ago, was with Virgina Satir’s work.
I am a long time practitioner of Buddhist teaching and meditation.
I would say, if I am understanding you correctly, you are correctly connecting my healing process with at least the Buddhist teachings and meditation with HD’s “strategy of waiting to respond”.
Each of the 4 energy types has a strategy to wait for something. With us generators it’s allowing life to come to us and responding with our authority.
I’m glad you’re making these connections. Well done. 👍🏻
Yes, it was a game-changer, receiving the epiphany of how to more harmoniously meditate 3yrs ago (after 40 years of absolute frustration! HD certainly nailed my “not-self theme”!!). In the Buddhist meditation that I received, the wisdom of “waiting to respond” was suggested as —- our infinite, eternal nature is like the sky … our thoughts, emotions, physical sensations like the clouds moving thru. We are living in that Sky, our forgotten Home, when watching with Presence, the temporary clouds pass by
Thank you for your comment on this week’s post. I realized when I sent you my “thank you” that I still have some inner work to do on accepting compliments. So, sincerely, thank you for helping me to evolve. 🫶🏻
I love that you shared this story with us. Human design still amazes me, the accuracy. And thank you so much for the shout out, I appreciate you.

😆 Yes, I remember when I received that same teaching. It’s a beautiful practice. And let’s always start with a beginners mind.
