I also want to say Thank You. My mom took huge amounts of immodium for decades and she now has to be in a memory care home. She still has problems with diarrhea due to the food they serve but I will find out if they're giving her immodium.

You’re welcome. I’m glad I can be of service.

I didn’t realize this wasn’t common knowledge amongst doctors until my mother’s hospitalization last year and I found myself having to educate them!

If your mom is having diarrhea issues - diet needs to be addressed. Boost is a common supplement for seniors and diarrhea is a common side effect.

Best wishes to you both.

I didn't know that about Boost. She did drink that for awhile when she was still living at home. Good to know. Thanks!

Thank you for this information. I'm a caregiver to my mother. I live with her and am responsible for the day to day. We do not use Immodium and I'm thankful about that but saddened to not have this information widely accessible to caregivers. I wonder what other OTC items are causing harm without our knowledge.

You’re welcome 🙏🏻

We face so many challenges… the lack of communication between different medical disciplines for one.

If I learn of others I will definitely share with my readers.

How long have you been responsible for your mother’s day to day care?

How would you describe her condition, how advanced?

How are you managing to take care of yourself?

Is there a topic you would like to know more about?

Much love 🫶🏻 to you and your mom 🫶🏻
